Meeks testified that he and Gavin traveled from Chicago to Chattanooga, where they checked into a Super 8 motel. He said that they then drove to a gas service station and waited for the woman Gavin had been trying to locate, but when she did not show up, Meeks agreed to drive to Fort Payne to try to find her.
